Kansas City Chiefs bigwigs have put a ban on Taylor Swift’s tunes at Arrowhead Stadium – all because of Travis Kelce’s high-profile relationship with the pop sensation.

Mark Donovan, the president of the Chiefs, spilled the beans about the decision to keep Swift’s hits off the stadium playlist while her beau, tight end Kelce, played his heart out during their triumphant 2023 season – helping them retain their NFL crown.

Swift became a familiar face at the Missouri venue as she supported the Chiefs throughout their journey to Super Bowl glory once again. With Kelce securing his third championship, Swift was spotted cheering him on at a whopping 13 games over the season.

Swift made her debut in the stands at the Chiefs’ home ground in September, watching Kelce take on the Chicago Bears, and witnessed an impressive 10 wins out of the games she attended. Seven of those victories came at Arrowhead Stadium.

Now, Donovan has come forward to reveal how the Chiefs’ top brass went out of their way to make sure that the Swift felt welcome without causing any fuss. He said: “We made it clear to Travis that we were going to be respectful of his relationship from Day 1 and make sure we didn’t create intentional distractions.”

Speaking to the crowd at World Congress of Sports in Los Angeles, Donovan added: “We didn’t play a single Taylor Swift song during the season.”

Before this revelation, Chiefs owner Clark Hunt had spoken about the couple’s relationship ahead of the Super Bowl, where Swift was present. Embracing her support, Hunt remarked: “Having Taylor as a new Chiefs fan is very unique.

“I don’t ever do an interview without someone asking me about it. I think a lot of players and coaches on the team are in the same boat. The most important thing is we’re happy for the two of them that they have found each other and have such a special relationship.”

Reflecting on the backing he’s received from the Chiefs, Kelce expressed his gratitude for the support during a significant year, saying: “I think the values we stand for and just who we are as people – we love to shine light on others, shine light on the people that help and support us, and on top of that, I think we both just love life.
