Angel Reese’s Blunt Message To Doubters Following Met Gala Drama, WNBA Game
Between attending the Met Gala in New York and her second WNBA preseason game, Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese had an eventful 24 hours to kick off the week.
On May 6, Reese left the Sky’s practice early in order to attend the Met Gala, where the rookie sensation did not disappoint.
One night later, Reese was back it on the hardwood, helping the Sky to a dominating win over the New York Liberty by a score of 101-53. Reese accounted for 13 points on six of ten shooting, added five rebounds and tallied two steals.
The Sky did play New York, but the game was in Chicago. So Reese was definitely busy, traveling between the two major cities to be at both events. But of course, Reese’s decision to attend the Met Gala one night prior to her second WNBA preseason game did not come without some criticism.
But after Reese looked fantastic in her 19 minutes of playing time on Tuesday night, the rookie phenom had a blunt message to all the doubters who thought she made the wrong choice by attending the Met Gala.
“Maximize them 24 hrs,” Reese said after the 101-53 win.
Good for Reese for blocking out the noise and focusing on her game, while also juggling the schedule and fame that comes with being such an icon in her field.
